MKSimulator v0.1 beta
Created by Daniel Fuentes from ULO for pedagogical purposes.
This simulator is a tool to help students simulate network scenarios using MTik equipment.
Topology
- Drag devices from the palette onto the canvas.
- Your topology autosaves to this browser (see the bottom-right indicator). Save downloads a .json file, Load opens one.
- Both side panels start collapsed as thin rails — click a rail to expand it, the panel name to collapse. The state is remembered.
- Click a free port, then another port, to connect them with a cable.
- Right-click a device: menu (config, terminal, delete).
- Zoom: mouse scroll. Pan: drag the background.
MTik routers
- Double-click opens the visual config (tabs: Interfaces, IPv4, Routes, DHCP, Firewall, Wireless).
- Right-click → "RtOS terminal" opens the full CLI.
- Commands: /ip address, /ip route, /ip firewall, /ip dhcp-server, /interface, /bridge, /queue, /ping, /export ...
- Tab completion, ↑/↓ history, ? shows help.
Testing
- Workstation/server terminal: ping, wget, arp, ipconfig.
- Watch animated packets and events in the log — it persists across reloads; use Clear Log to wipe it.
